A while back I mentioned I got a coaching gig just for this month and it has been going wonderfully, kind of sad that the program is ending this week. In all we’ve only had 1 troubled school out of 12, well its more some of kids rather make it not fun for everyone as they are acting out and rather be at school then there since they don’t know how to paddle or get wet. Gotta love pre-teens/teenagers as this program is for grade 5-12.
I’ve kind of gotten use to having sea legs, as I mentioned above its 12 schools a week spread out though the week but for Wednesday there are 2 schools in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, then I gotta head over to where I normally coach out of (30 minutes away on the highway) coach then head to my practice. I leave the house at 8AM and don’t get home until close to 10PM.
Been offered to coach at that paddling center this summer BUT I don’t kayak so I turned it down though depending on what I’m doing next spring I might be one of the coaches again for this program again.
From all this coaching/being on the water with my team, I’ve gotten a lot darker then my normal May tan. I don’t think I’ve been this tan since I was 10 years old :sunburnt2:
Paddling~Geek.Net has been around for 5 years next month. I’m thinking of ways to celebrate it, not 100% sure yet but I’m thinking maybe having a contest of some sort. More details mid June

Hi There! Welcome to Paddling-Geek.Net (PGN for short).

5 years?! Wow! Congrats.
Congratulations on almost making it to the 5 year mark. I say contests… I like contests.
That is sucky about the certain kids being dorks and ruining the fun. Hopefully you did not have to many prissy don’t want to get wet or have any fun types.
Is the kayacking thing a need to know how for the job at the paddling centre? I would take it, but of course I am not you. Though I do want to rent a kayak and head out on the water sometime this summer for a day adventure. Care to join me?
Congrats on the five year mark! Very cool.
Sounds like you’ve had your hands full with the teens. But overall I’m sure it was still a wonderful experience. Too bad you don’t kayak cause the summer program sounds pretty fun.
Sounds like your tan is pretty hard-core.
woo hoo! five years! I think my domain reaches six in about a month too
A lot of websites come and go these days, yay for making the 5 year mark!
