Duct Tape and walls don’t mix

There are 101+ ways to use duct tape but having it on a wall as a border should not be one of them. I’m not sure if the old owners thought up the idea themselves OR got the idea from one of those crappy design shows, I know you know which shows I’m talking about. In one of the bedrooms they used black duct tape as a border in the barbie pink little girls room.

At 1st I thought it was just paint it wasn’t until one morning after living here for a few days, I noticed its not paint its duct tape. After a lot of cursing when I removed some duct tape to notice I’m gonna have more of pain in the butt job, fixing the walls where the duct tape was. After a lot of thought, I’ve hired some painters/mudders to come and fix the problem this way I know its gonna get done and I’m not the one cursing (well maybe when I have to pay them) :hyper:

I wish, they would have spent the time to paint the border, yes duct tape is cheap and its easy to put up but OI! Some people do love to cut corners I swear.

On a happier note, a few of my friends from back in the day are coming back into the website/blog world again YAY! Ones viewable right now the others are still being worked on (I believe), so please welcome back Caleb and give him some  .

That is pretty… dodge. Sure, it’s cheap and fast, but it doesn’t say much for how much you love and care for your home eh? And the hassle you give your new owners, argh. Getting professional people in is probably a good idea, despite the cost, but you’ll get it looking nice again hassle free!
I looked at the domain page, and OH-MY-GOSH I had no idea you were part of gurl-pages hahaha. That was one of the first websites I ever visited when we first got the internet, my dad saw an ad for it in the newspaper haha. Iiinteresting.

Wow, duck tape? They must of been some rednecks to do something like that! I’ve never heard of anyone doing that before. Must of watched the Red Green show a little too much.

Wow, duct tape as a border… That is… lame.. lol :p I can’t believe anyone actually had the idea of doing that!

OMG, are you serious!? Duct tape!?

Bwahahahahaha. That HAS to be the most ridiculous things I ever heard! Well, ridiculous & trashy! How freaking lame, lol.

Hopefully it didn’t cost you too much to fix it :ugh:

Well we usually use duct tape during typhoons to tape the windows so it doesn’t break and stuff. But other than that, I can only think of using it to shut someone’s mouth xD

  9. Tashina Says:

Who would even think about using tape for that? So weird!

  10. Nile Says:

That is not exactly how i would like to try to raise the value of a place. That is really tacky…lol. Although I hear there are people who use duct tape to make clothes these days. Whatever floats their boat…I guess *shrugs*

It is not exactly home improvement material and is not a permanent fix.

  11. Ashley Says:

Ick, duct tape is not for home design. Shame on them for even thinking that.

I know duck tape wallets used to be all the rage when I was in grade eight. That is a long time ago, but on walls? Of all the stupid things people can do, that is in the top spot. Poor child who got stuck with that room!

Lol dummies, I guessed they thought it was same as “wall tape”. Little did they know though duct tape is cheaper, it would be a PAIN to remove!!
