5 minutes of my life wasted

Canada jumped on the bandwagon last month with a site, where you sign up to have less telemarketers call you as you can’t block all of them. Only thing I wish could happen though, is for any telemarketers/companies that call you to be removed off a list of numbers once you give up your phone number and it goes back into the pool to be resubmitted to people. Lets say Jo Smith switches numbers and if he lives in the same area then those telemarketers/companies be transfer over to his new number and not call ME instead.
I got this call in the middle of dinner, I grabbed the phone before looking at the called id, then again I was thinking it was someone else. Wrong-o, the call was a telemarketer looking for the old owners of the number I have now. She kept calling me Mrs.(surname) and would go on and on. I tried to cut in so many times, at one point of the 5 minute phone call, I said I’m very sorry but your not talking to Mrs.(surname), they DO NOT own this number anymore and may I ask what this is regarding cause I would like to be removed from your call list. She kept going on, oh Mrs.(surname). So pissed off me just hung up.
Normally, I just say oh sorry [sir/mama], but the person your looking doesn’t live here anymore and I don’t know their new phone number. Normally I get a reply back saying oh sorry, would you like to be removed and of course I say yes. I know, telemarketing is a job like everything else but sometimes I just have to wonder why would you want that job?
Have you ever had a telemarketer like that or worse?

Can’t quite say that I have actually. Then again, we don’t answer calls from any numbers that we don’t recognize so it could play a part in everything.
Thanks very much for the comment
You have a nice site, and a lovely layout
Thanks for visiting
I usually don’t pick up the phone unless it’s someone I know. If I do pick up for a telemarketer I just talk over them saying I’m sorry but I’m not interested and hang up.
Did you register for the National Do Not Call list? My dad got me to do it for us and my grandma.

It excludes political parties and charities from the best of my knowledge though. Usually if telemarketers call, they speak Cantonese and I tell them I do not understand. In other cases, I will say ___ is not here or that I am underage. Muahaha.
Edited by me: I’ve joined it but still getting calls for the old owners of the number (bleh) I do that as well, Yeah I’m 28 but I don’t sound that old and or I work for the media (I don’t anymore but whatever).. That always get me out of answering anything..
