My Valentines Day Weekend
I don’t hate valentines day, I just dislike it a LOT and it has nothing to do with me being single for the last 3 years. Its just an over rated hallmark holiday. :broken:
On Saturday, I just wanted it to be as low key as possible by just head to practice and do nothing for the rest of the afternoon as Sunday was fully booked with family. When I got home from practice, My brother called and asked if I wanted to meet up with him and our mom for a late birthday dinner. I was like okay since I wasn’t able to see him earlier in the week. Bad idea all the places we wanted to go for dinner had an waiting list from anywhere from 1-2 hours. Ah, no thanks!! So we headed to McDonald’s and had ourselves a sundae.
This morning, the three of us jumped onto a ferry and headed over to see our last living grandma
and our uncle who we haven’t seen in months as well my dad and his 2nd wife. We are all treating it as lets do a visit now as we don’t know when she’ll be kicking the bucket. She told me today that she loves being a great grandma.

Hi, the name is Kimm, I'm a 30 year old Canadian who has been online since 1999. For the last 16 years my main passion has been dragon boating where I've eaten, slept and breathed it and raced all over North America.

Sounds like fun, getting to see people. I like getting to visit people that I haven’t seen in a while, so that’s awesome.
Awwh, that’s awesome that your Grandma loves being a Great Grandma. I know mine wants little ones, but does not want to be called Great Grandma, as well … she does not think of herself as old enough! (haha!)
Yeah heading out to a restaurant is totally over rated for V-Day. Unless you have a reservation, and even then I’m sure they are not running on time. I’m happy Bryan and I just opted to head up to Whistler for some snowboarding, we were already planning a trip up sometime soon. We did not buy gifts for each other, we only exchanged lift tickets!
I spent my Valentine’s Day playing computer games and baking muffins. Spoiling myself is my way of celebrating my single Valentine’s day. It can only bother you if you let it.
I agree that it is an overrated over commercialized holiday. I wish it wasn’t because it makes people who are single feel like crap. *raises hand*
I agree that V-Day is VERY overrated…though my hubby and I do like to celebrate it! Sounds like you had a good weekend…even if you didn’t do anything lovey dovey!
Sounds like a great time! I’m glad you had a good time. I also agree it is overrated but it is a nice excuse to do something fun together with your loved one or friends;.
Ugh. And totally agree with Aidan. Avoid restaurants on V-Day at all costs. The food is always bad and so is the service!
