C4AC #2 – Reno Headaches

Today is one of those days were I just wish didn’t happen. I woke up with a headache, got a knock on the door from one of the landscapers and said that they smelt gas when they walked by the gas meter. So after getting dressed, I raced around the house trying to see if I smelt something and at the same time opening up all the windows and doors. As I didn’t want to round up my 4 cats and bird just yet but had their kennels near the door just in case (thankfully all 5 critters were on the same floor).
When I called the local gas company to come out and check it out/fix the problem. The person on the other end of the phone wasn’t paying any attention to what I was saying. She said is your hot water tap hot or cold? How the heck would I know? I just woke up and smelt gas so I left the house, I barely had time to head to the washroom.
So when the gas company came, they didn’t turn off the gas or anything (I did after they left) but they found a leak on the gas meter as well a lot of problems this latest reno that was in the furnace room. So now we gotta find a new person to do a overlook on what was added when the house was built to this gas guy that the contractors hired. UGH!!!
I wonder after this morning headache if I got any more grey hair? Though I did enjoy the afternoon outside in the sun watching the landscapers hard at work. I would have so jumped in to help them out but being sideline STINKS! And yes mr.eye candy was there.

Ouch. Silly gas people. You’d think that the first thing that they would have told you to do (or done when they got there) was tell you to turn off the gas, just in case.

Ooooo, Mr eye candy – that sounds intriguing!
Hope the meter leak is all fixed now?
Oh, Excedrin Migraine, works wonders for me.

:O I’m glad that you and the fur babies are okay! Jeremy needs to get on the ball about contacting our propane company to see if we have a leak because whenever the furnace kicks on in the basement it’s like a “WOOMPH” :/
Terasen didn’t shut off the gas and simply let it leak? That’s just plain crazy. You should have called the fire department! And you may have gotten more eye candy. Can’t say it would have done it for me, but heck.. this is your blog.
