I was looking forward to this day all month as well next Tuesday (able to start paddling again) but today I was allowed to head to the gym.
I was going insane and driving my mom nuts since I could not do anything.
More I thought about it over breakfast this morning was to skip going to the gym for another week or two. I don’t want to be stubborn and do something and injury myself more. Then again, I didn’t want to head there and just use the treadmill. Waste of time, gas and trying to find a parking spot. Since today was amazing and felt like spring I went for a good 30 minute walk with my ipod (and camera). One thing I forgot to do before I left was to put sunscreen on, let’s just say I just started my 2009’s tan.
I’m hoping to head for a walk daily or every two days for 30minutes to an hour just to get the blood moving again and it will give me something to do until I feel like I’m able to do more at the gym then I can now.
I really wish this subdivision I now live in had sidewalks; most of these houses aren’t even 10 years old yet. Sometimes I don’t feel safe walking on the curb/side of the road when a car is going 80 KM/H down the street when you should be going 50 or below (there is a park near by).
On the walk I saw this Tulip tree blooming, normally I won’t stop but having camera in hand, I just had to take a picture to say Spring has finally shown up (well at least here).

Now that the snow is melting off, again, the grass is getting green here as well :). Maybe you could kick my butt into having motivation to walk or something. -_- Then maybe I’d lose weight. Instead. I’m lazy.
A tulip *tree*? -stares in marvel- I want one! lol. I took photos of some tulips yesterday… It’s still kinda difficult to imagine that it’s spring after all the bad weather that’s been around for ages and ages.

Good for you for being gentle with yourself! I tore up my knees in hs, and didn’t stop till the injury was permanent. Enjoy spring, and think growing supportive thoughts for your body!

I also walk about 2miles a day. One of the streets the traffic goes 50-65mph, & the speed limit is only 35mph. There are no sidewalks. I do have a treadmill but I only like using on raining days & in the winter time. I live in Torrington Connecticut, the weather here sucks most of the time. You have to keep on walking its very healthy.
At first, when you said tulip tree, I was at a loss. But you call a tulip tree, I call a magnolia tree – which I just looked up means the same thing! You learn something new every day.

I like to walk but it’s hard where I live without sidewalks so I know what you mean.
