For weeks leading up to today a lot of people and companies jumped onto the Earth Day bandwagon with “Let’s Go Green”. But how many people and or companies will be saying the same chant tomorrow and or 6 months from now… Not that many.

I’m tried of hearing people perching about we gotta do something but none of those people will do anything. Example: Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans STILL has not recovered or been rebuilt 100%, the place looks like it was just been hit a week ago not years. Where did all the money that poured in to help out get put? Guessing, someones back pocket .

Earth Hour and Earth Day to me isn’t a trend but away to make us humans to get a head check to remember we only do have one planet to live on (at this moment). Sure Mother Nature does like giving us curve balls with disasters but we humans aren’t helping out much either. The idea about going green and getting an electric car sounds great but where are we gonna get the electric.. err power from and are you willing to pay more electric per month for the use of a car?

The other day when I was walking around my area, I noticed some new houses being built all around 4000sqft with maybe 15 by 10 back yard and a 3 car garage. Do we really need that much space?
For me I’d worry about lack of yard to relax in, how many bathrooms are there to clean, how much longer would it take to clean the place or the cost on heating the place in the winter.

Today also marks Pixel’s (one of four my cats) birthday. It doesn’t seem like 8 years have gone by so fast. I still remember the day she came home. How small and pure black fluff that she was now she is the leader of the other two girl cats (its funny, when one gets into trouble the other two are near by also getting into trouble). You can tell she can’t wait to be alpha cat once my eldest cat passes on so she can boss my other two girl cats around some more. Being stuck at home this whole month has made me become the crazy cat lady, I swear!!!

How was your Earth Day?

It’s almost May so that means Comment for a Cause is drawing to a close in 8 days. Thanks to Lance for the last comment, which now brings c4ac’s total amount to $126 of my own money being donated to the MS Society. I would like to see if Comment for a Cause could reach 150 comments/dollars in its second year. The more you comment the more money I have to donate.

Not sure about you, but on the way home from practice tonight. I just started thinking that in 1999, I got into a nasty car accident couldn’t paddle for a month, in 2005, the day before I was to head out to our regional time trials for nationals I get in a car accident (both cases they drive into me), in 2007 I had a kid, this year I had surgery. I’m starting to think whats going on…. and why is it happening only on the odd years? Sure now I’m curious to see if something does happen in 2011,2013 etc but I don’t want to think about it either. Okay, I blame myself for getting pregnant and eating crappy/mixed with family genes.

Tonight was a joke! everyone was heading into town for the Canucks game, thankfully I was going the other way. There was road work everywhere and I hit every red light from leaving my house to when I got down to practice (I was PISSED). At practice, people were shocked and surprised to see me come out. The coach and I went into the coach boat and noticed it was missing its boat plug so she found a pine cone that was in the boat and then noticed as we got out half way the motor was CRAP, it went from slow to slower.

So no videoing the two boats tonight . I got asked if I wanted to come out to Saturdays race, I said sure (thinking I was going to just watch) but nope they want me paddle on the 2nd boat. I was hoping a practice to get myself back into the swing of things not a 4 races in one day. I might be on this 2nd boat if the boat I want to be on is already full .. well roster wise but not everyone shows at a practice Which means instead of being in the top 10, I might be on a team ranked in the top 60′s out of 180 teams :angry:

I don’t want to have a chip on the shoulder but team politics just boggles my mind.
