caught and leashed my demons

For those who have been emailing me to blog, and or to see if this site went on hiatus… nope, I’ve just been super busy that I’ve barely had time to sit down and write or I’ve been dealing with my own demons. Since I had to get my gall bladder removed (because of the family history problems, and being 30 pounds overweight). I’ve been really hard on myself for getting so out of control.
The plan now is to trying to rebuild my cardio back up and my endurance since I was benched for all of April. It doesn’t seem like a long time but for an athlete, 30 days is a VERY long time. There is only so much metal training and watching video of races from precious years you can do before going stir crazy.
I’m really hoping by the end of summer that my daily routine of free weights in the morning and a jog/walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes then later on in the day hit the treadmill again for an hour – hour and a half on the days I don’t have practice. For the days I got practice, I just to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes to workout the muscles will get me back down to nicer number on the scale.
Now that I have caught and leashed my demons, the next hurdle is keep the weight off that I lose and to keep those demons under control.
How do you keep your demons in check?

I’m trying to keep my demon in check.. damn thing doesn’t want to let go! I’ve been slowly building my way on our new elliptical machine. at 25mins a day now! I still go on my 3-4hour walks and we do a weekly hike for 3-4hours as well. Just gotta get rid of the binge eating….

It is not easy. Usually something rewarding like if I want to go tanning, I will walk 2 miles to the place, tan, and then walk 2 miles home. Not the lazy walking, but power walking.

I’m glad you realized all this and you decided to do something about it. I know it will make you happier. It always takes me way too long to realize things like this and it really makes it harder when I finally do need to do something about it. Always take it one step at a time and have the support of others. That’s what helps me.
Good luck! I know you can do it.

I keep my demons in check by beating them off with a stick. And talking about issues with people (blogging helps as well). But congrats on reining them in a little bit, I bet that makes things all seem manageable now. =)

Exercising…..what is that?
I can safely say that once I left high school, any form of healthy lifestyle went cold. This summer I am trying to get back on track with biking and yoga. Not sure how long that will last, but it is a start I suppose. Then again, my crazy kitten does make me play tag around the house with him. Too bad the little one is not a dog, or else I get daily walks twice a day or more.
It is always the hardest getting back on track, once you are past that part everything is easier. And I know you will accomplish your goal!

I keep my demons in check with OCD. I can’t have stuff disorganized or I go crazy and this applies to *everything*.
I’d say 30 days out of commission with anything you love can drive anyone stir crazy so hopefully you’ll be up and at it in no time!
