Future Renos & Tinkering Jobs

With in the next couple of years I want to do another reno gut of this place, I’ve already lived though 9 months of renos already in this place. As we redid the kitchen, two bathrooms and curl appeal/better water drainage in the backyard.
My future reno plans would be,
- Rewire the whole house – Instead of a set of 3 light switch’s in one, who ever did the wiring the house made it so there are 3 individual light switches on one wall.
- Correct the mistake of whomever put the breaker box upside down, relabel the breaker box in pen not pencil
- Line up all the over head lights and speakers on the main floor (maybe in my office too) – it looks tacky and just put up with out a care.
- When doing all the work on the ceiling, remove the popcorn ceiling – not a fan of popcorn ceilings anyways, and not all the rooms have it.
- Purchase a bigger furnace and remove the base heaters on the top floor – the builders were being cheap, two floors have air ducks and one doesn’t, but the house was built so you could have it on all the floors.
- Match all three gas fireplaces – two of them don’t have fans built in like the third one does.
- Re-vinyl the whole exterior – to many holes left by changing the gutter’s down spouts location and the old owners using drywall screws to hold up a hose reel. (the gutter guy said they don’t fill in the holes, not even the top floor .. ( I’m willing to do the first, two stories)
- Re tile the entrance way and fix the sub-floor – thanks to the guys doing the bathroom reno, they were given the wrong tiles, and instead of taking it back right away, they left tile in one spot for days and now you can see a drop in the ceiling below.
- Maybe add a big fan to the top floor ceiling that flesh with the ceiling that goes into the attic just so that air can move around a lot better in the summer months and your NOT tripping over fan cords. My grandfolks had one and it was lovely and cooled the whole house down without turning on the AC.
- Add a motion decorator to the side of the house that has a gate/hose reel (tired of walking out there with a flash light when I water my grass at night).
Some of it err most of it is more of me being picky about workmanship and laziness then anything else. But if and when I do sell this place I want it the next owners not have to worry about being mislead.

Sounds like a lot of good renovations to be done! It’s always good to have a list of things to do. My dad does this but his problem is that he starts them all at once and never finishes them.
First of all I am here from Netchick, So I don’t forget to say that. Secondly, you have a lot going on. All those plans for renovations, the dragon boat, and nine incarnations of the blog. You are one busy woman.
Haha sounds like what my parents are doing at the moment! :P
You dont need to re-wire the whole house, just change up the light switches. It does not involve any re-wiring, plus as long as the breaker switches go side to side then there is no problem with it, as there should be no electrical issues with your house as it is a new home. I do highly encourage using either a label maker or a sharpie pen and write them in asap incase you need to turn something off in the future.
Just make sure you hire a good electrician, my brother for example. Someone who won`t b.s. you or your mom, plus he can put in that motion detecor light. (except it gets annoying when set up outside as animals can set it off as well … constant flickering at all times of the night)
when we have two different electricians (a family friend and the landscapers electrician) come in and question some of the wiring then yes..
