What a decade
Happy 2010 Everyone, I hope everyone had a great time last night whatever you were doing. As I was jointing down notes for yesterday’s blog post three days ago. I started thinking about doing a post relating living in my 20′s in the last decade. So here it is.
2000:
- The first of the cousin’s got married
- Started a online chat on yahoo groups for Dragon Boaters
2001:
- A childhood cat Peanut passed away and I got three new kittens
- Meeting a Dragon Boater for the first time from the net, at a festival
- Started dating my on and off again BF
- Drive down to Seattle to celebrate my 21st birthday
2002:
- Began talking to a bunch of bloggers (who don’t blog anymore) and became really good friends with Kari
2003:
- Lost another childhood cat Fritz on my 23rd birthday (now I have 4 cats)
- My Dad’s father passed away – the 1st of my grandparents to pass on
- Became the my cities rep for Scouts (5-7 year old beavers)
- Purchased this domain
2004:
- Was my 10th year Dragon Boating
- Spent a week in New York (1st time I was there in 98), Met up with an online friend of mine Luis
- While in New York I attend a Dragon Boat Festival, where my team did our 1st ever huli (flipped) in a dragon boat [Wrong boats for the location we were in]
2005:
- Got into two car accidents that summer, both were not my fault
- Because of one accident I was not allowed to paddle at the Nationals in Calgary so I was the land manger
- Met Kari for the very first time, two days before her wedding. I was one of her bridesmaid
- Flew back down to Indianapolis for Thanksgiving
- Got out of retail and started working for the family business
2006:
- My moms folks passed away 17 days a part, my aunt passed away that summer from cancer
- Last year of being in Scouts as a youth and stopped being a leader in Scouts and Girls Guide (the parents were just getting to me)
- My Ex and I broke up for good
- Got a second job at Home Depot
- 2nd Thanksgiving Dinner in Indianapolis
2007:
- Left Home Depot
- Gave birth to an amazing girl on my best friends Kerri birthday
- Being in Indianapolis for a December Wedding and being stuck at the airport on the way home due to the snow storm that hit the midwest.
2008:
- Moved out of my childhood home
- Finally made the switch to WordPress
- Flew down to Indianapolis for a funeral
- Being stuck in the Vancouver Snow Storm
- Attend my 10 year high school reunion
2009:
- Celebrated 3 years of being single with friends
- Flew to Indianapolis for the last time for Thanksgiving dinner
Heres to 2010 and the new decade a head of us. I’m looking forward to celebrating the tween years in my 30′s. I wonder what the next ten years will bring us…. in technology (what will be out of date), for human kind, and will I find that special someone?

Hi, the name is Kimm, I'm a 30 year old Canadian who has been online since 1999. For the last 16 years my main passion has been dragon boating where I've eaten, slept and breathed it and raced all over North America. 
I’m shocked that you can remember so much. I hardly remember anything I guess. I’m curious about the medical advances and technology advances as well.
What a decade indeed! I’m kind of scared as to what the future will bring. Like you, I’m also questioning as to whether or not I’ll find that “special someone.” It’s the “or not” part that scares me! lol.
