Comment for a Cause (C4AC) is back for it’s 3rd year. C4AC is my way to raises funds & awareness. This year I’ve picked Right to Play as my charity of choice. Each comment this site gets equals $1 that I will be donating at the end of the month.. Don’t forget to keep up to date by subscribing to my rss feed
Today’s just been one of those days where you think its been half an hour since you last looked at the clock and its been like 5 minutes, or it goes by super quick..
I just finished packing my paddling gear and food for our clubs 1st regatta tomorrow. Can’t wait, I love this regatta cause its just sprints which are 200meter pieces (about 1min long) compared to the normal 500meter pieces that are at every other regatta/festival. Though I wish the rain would hold off until the end of the regatta, racing in rain isn’t fun!
Tonight is no different then other other night before a race, as you can always find me with a big bowl of pasta and my pepper salad and going though race prep by leashing up my nervous butterflies (err focusing in on what I need to do in a race) as part of my pre-race day prep.
I hate people who just say give it your all on a race, you should being giving it your all at every practice. How can you give it your all if you don’t know how to deal with it at a practice?
Have a great Saturday

For the last while, I just found heading to the gym or even working out at home isn’t doing for it for me anymore.. It just feels like I’m doing the same boring thing over and over again even if I changed something. So after a lot of thought and googling I found a pilates studio that’s about 15 minutes from my house, so tomorrow morning (err in a couple hours) I’ll be taking in my 1st pilates class (signed up for 15 weeks). I’m looking forward to be working out in a different way and not be waiting in line for a treadmill or the weights.
My goal isn’t to have a killer beach body by the summer but to be able to compete the skill tests that you need to do if you want to join the national bobsledding team. The one part of that test I’m NOT looking forward to is the running
since I’m not a runner, no matter what if I truly try out for the team or not, I see this as a great cross trainer for my paddling.
What’s driving you to your fitness goal?

Today was an awesome day, Karen and I had a mid afternoon exec meeting for #H2OGeeks which is our twitter/social media Dragon Boat team (which I formed last year). Both of us can’t wait for this up and coming season as we are taking part in two regattas this summer and have 3/4 of the team from last year returning.
I’m still in aw that this team kicked butt last year at Paddle for Kids, here I thought we’d be ranked in the lower bunch but to my surprise we placed 7th overall out of 24 teams and some of them were real dragon boat teams that practice all year long.
I wonder what this season has in store for us.
If you are from the Vancouver (BC) area and are interested in trying out dragon boating or wanting to join us please let me know asap as spots are filling up fast
Speaking about twitter and dragon boating, two Florida dragonboaters (who twitter) have put a team together of dragonboaters (who are active on twitter) for a festival happening next month, they are calling themselves Tweam Dragon Boat Team. It would be cool to take part in this dragonboat “tweet up” if you want to call it that but couldn’t get time off work. Hope those who take part have an awesome time!
