I got a new job its okay so far, but never thought I would be working in an office type place at all as I’m not use to the careless and how loud people talk and I’m on the phone a lot talking to my newspaper carriers. When the Olympics were in town I was getting up at 4am be at work for 5:30 and working a 12hr shifts. I didn’t really like getting up that early but I didn’t want to turn down the extra money that was being offered.

The thing that sucks the most is I recently got this nasty head cold and I’m sure from the lack of sleep/getting up early and working in a cubicle that’s shared by a lot of people is the reasons why I’m sick. So before work tomorrow I think I’m gonna clean that cubicle like never before just to be on the safe side.

So how are you doing?

Kimm and I met back in 2002-ish when I was still active with comp-licated.org. I cannot remember how we found each other to be honest but it doesn’t matter b/c ever since we started commenting on each others posts then lead to either Yahoo or MSN msgr w/webcam it was like we knew each other forever! In 2005, I was to get married to my now husband, Jon, and Kimm wanted to come to Indiana for the wedding. She definitely won the award for the most miles traveled for a wedding in my book. Jon and I discussed what we could do since she came from such a far distance, so I made the gamble by having her participate in the wedding. Mind you, we knew each other since 2002, but never met in person until 5 days prior of my wedding. I got a lot of weird comments about allowing someone I met from the internet in a wedding party and whatnot but in my view, they didn’t know the entire story. I would have never taken back this decision in the world! Since 2005, Kimm has came into town for Thanksgiving or any other special occasion of that particular year: 2005-06, Thanksgiving; 2007, Joy’s wedding; 2008, my Grandpa’s funeral; and in 2009: Thanksgiving. She’s seen my ups and downs as have I have seen hers.

Kimm is a wonderful person and I wouldn’t give her up for anything in this world. I do owe her a crap ton of visits to Canada, and I do need to get a tattoo with her since I did help her with her first one. In closing, girl I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to Vancouver for your 30th, but you know how the money is these days (years…idk ) but once I become finally stable, Woody and I will make it up there…PROMISE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WITH MUCH LOVE!

Copyright © 2010 Kimm. Visit the original article at http://paddling-geek.net/2009/10/30/halloween-movie-night/.

After a week long <a href="http://paddling-geek.net/2009/10/23/rsvp/" target=_new">headache trying to figure out who was attending my annual movie night last Saturday, I gave up guessing and purchased enough food for ten people, should have purchased for the five yeses, reality there was three of us. We did had fun eating everyone’s zombie cookie who wasn’t there.

Wish I had pictures of that but only picture I have is just some of the movies we watched. If there was more of us we were gonna do some games like pin the brain on the zombie and or have a carve pumpkin contest. Instead we just watched movies all night/day long.

So the moral of this, or what I’m taking from this is only invite people who will attend and never trust anyone who says maybe.

Copyright © 2010 Kimm. Visit the original article at http://paddling-geek.net/2009/10/26/onlineversary/.

Silly as it sounds, it just clicked the other day when I was talking to a long time net friend. That we’ve been friends now for 10 years and it also means its my onlineversary. Even though I got an email account in 1995, I wasn’t really into the interacting with people in chat-rooms and what not until the fall after I graduated high school.

Within the 10 years I’ve been online, there has been a lot of changes. I remember Bolt.com one of the first networking sites out there, to everyone having a site(s) on geocites, to if you weren’t hosted by someone/had your own domain you were looked down a upon. Even the battle of who’s browser is better internet explore vs netscape (at the time) now internet explore is against firefox, safari, chrome, opera etc. One thing I don’t miss is the ever so many webrings, tagboards and annoying pop ups on peoples sites.

I still think its neat that I’m still use two of my original screen names/email accounts from 1999.. They are now used mostly for my long time friends/family on chat and to collect all my junk email. All my paddlinggeek screen names have everyone else I talk to on chat.

How many screen names have you gone though before you found the perfect one?
Do you still use any of them?
