It doesn’t seem like its Day 3 of Comment for a Cause at all, with being suck in the hospital from Sunday to Thursday for emergency gal bladder removal (thank god for auto scheduling posts). I wanna say thanks to Aidan who step up to the plate and was approving comments for me when I was still in the hospital.
I guess, I should start listening to my body then putting other people first like I have always have. My body finally got my attention by sending me to the hospital 3:30AM Sunday morning. I should have had the surgery on Tuesday been home Wednesday but thanks to 2 people who had to get shoot and put the hospital into lock down mode I got bumped until Wednesday.
The doctor told me that I can’t do anything or lift more then 5 pounds for 3-6 weeks. Which means I’ve been dry docked/benched from paddling until the doctor okays it. I can already tell you I’m going stir crazy until I’m back on the water.
I couldn’t believe on how many teenagers were being accompanied by the cops when I was in the hospital. I could see it more on a weekend but mid week? The joys of living in the city.

family roots,
St. Patricks Day
There is something about St. Patrick’s Day
, were I just start thinking about what would have it been like for my family members and others who traveled by boat in the 1800′s for months for a chance to start a new life in an unknown place. I would have been scared shit-less, not knowing if I or any of my family members or friends would die while sailing across the atlantic or if any of us would be turned away once we landed. There are days where I had a time machine just so I could see what they had to deal with. To even ask those of my family who did do the journey why did they do it?
With that, I’m a proud 4th and 6th generation Canadian (depends on what side of the family you look at) but I have always called myself a Canadian with a hint of Irish, Scottish and English blood or a Canadian-UK mutt.
I didn’t really do much today other then head to my favourite Irish Pub for lunch for a guinness and mushy peas….. Yum. If I could stand the taste of light beer, I’d order a green beer but since I’m not I’ll stick with a good Irish classic.
How was everyone’s St. Patrick’s Day err Tuesday??

Sunday was gonna be my 1st time back in an 6man outrigger after so many years. But thanks to the Taco Bell, I had for dinner the night before (1st time in 6 months). I had to miss practice so I could wait in the doctors office for 50 freaken minutes and see him for under 3 of those minutes.
From the time I went to bed to when I woke up I had a nice reaction to what I ate. My lips were swollen about 6 times the normal size and my left hand is covered in hives. The doc said it might take a few weeks for this reaction to go away.
Googling around I found some other causes of it happening to other bloggers. From that I’ll just boycott Taco Bell and any other fast food joint from now on.
Now, I’m waiting on my allergy results, from the other week. The last one I had was about 18 years ago. Opps!
