On Friday (my last day before my vacation) the weather was turning from nice to everyone panicking because of a snow warning. By Saturday morning we had a good couple of inches on the ground and it was still snowing, and footprints all along my street and a few others in my area as someone was trying ever car door to see if any were unlocked.
In all my years of flying I’ve never had to deal with a deicing which made me nervous as we were delayed 45 minutes before we even got into the air, and of course the second plane I had to catch was at the other end of the second terminal, I was able to make it with 5 minutes to spare before we were loading that plane. By the time I got off that plane I hadn’t eaten all day and I wasn’t pleased that if I wanted a snack on the plane that I had to use my credit card for a $3 dollar item instead of cash. So I went to Starbucks as I was waiting to be picked up. Walking out of the Airport and my allergies weren’t pleased with me.
We didn’t do to much yesterday, because my friends are big Colts fans we went to a well known sport bar chain out here in the Midwest to watch the game. I noticed on the menu they had a Canadian beer and I was craving something from home so I order a drink and the waitress didn’t have a clue what I was talking about or allowed me to order as I didn’t have an American ID, nor my passport on me (I’m sorry I hate traveling with my passport), just because they had a problem with Mexican’s using fake id’s. So we left and went to another restaurant and they were a lot friendlier and I can see my friends going back there again.
Hope everyone had a great weekend

Happy Thanksgiving, :turkey: hope your having a wonderful time with loved ones this weekend.
We had our thanksgiving dinner last night injunction with celebrating my late gramps and aunt birthday who both passed away 4 years ago. My cousin’s girlfriend wanted to try her hand hosting a family dinner for 13 but with a twist. Everyone had to bring something to the table and since she didn’t want to cook the turkey, my mom did and so that means I just have to visit my mom for leftovers instead of my cousin. LOL.

Happy BC Day to all you BC folk out there.
I do love long weekends and I do love getting away but there is something about a staycation that’s more relaxing as you don’t have to deal with the overpriced gas prices, the long traffic jams on the hwy and making sure you packed everything you need for your trip aka the bug spray.
This would have been a great get a away weekend for me if my plans did fall though, I was asked if I could spare for a friend’s team and also was invited to my best friends mom’s wedding. I’m sad that I turn down the wedding invite (but I’m seeing them for 9 days in November), this was all before I found out that I wasn’t need after all. Though this made my wallet really happy that I wasn’t going anywhere.
What did I do with my Staycation?
- Relaxed at home,
- Tackled a few chores I haven’t been able to do since I haven’t been home
- Went out on a date,
- Missed practice due to sleeping in / and idiots on the roads (couldn’t get anywhere)
- Worked on PGN (this site) and on two other sites I run.
What do you do on long weekends? Get out of town or stay home?
