Comment for a Cause (C4AC)
is back for it’s 3rd year. C4AC is my way to raises funds & awareness. This year I’ve picked Right to Play as my charity of choice. Each comment this site gets equals $1 that I will be donating at the end of the month.. Don’t forget to keep up to date by subscribing to my rss feed

As I was driving to practice tonight, I had to deal with an an tailgater who wasn’t getting the point, that I wasn’t gonna go more then 20 KM over the highway speed limit, even if I could I would have merged into the slow lane I couldn’t as it was full with big rigs and what not. The thing that got me really annoyed was when they were playing chicken with the big rig trucks just so they could get in front of me and slow down to 20 KM below the speed limit and gave me the finger, then minutes later went back into the slow lane to merge onto an off ramp. Only one to blame for you being late is yourself!

I’m sorry there is a time and place to be an asshole but playing chicken with your life and others on the road isn’t the time. Because they slowed down in front of me I was able to write down their license plate number, now I’m really debating if I want to report them. If you are gonna be an ass and speed please do it far away from me so I can either laugh at you when you get pulled over by a cop OR drive up to your accident and without asking are you okay.. I’d be asking WHY?

In BC there are graduated licensing where when you 1st get your license you have to have a L on the car with someone over 25 in the car who has a license for 18 months then once you pass that road test you get an N and you have that for another 18 months but only allowed 1 other passenger once you pass that test you don’t see another road test you’ll get is when your 60 something, which I think is bull crap. Driving is a privilege and not a right so there should be a road test every 10 years or so when you renew your license as we all have picked up bad habits from over the years. And the same goes with RV’s and sport cars everyone who wants one of those needs to take classes and a road test of sorts.

One thing that I think would be a little bit big-brother but is to have a censer were you can tell how far you are from another car and another must would be having a slot where you put your license into the car when you start the car and if you do something stupid like go 50+ over the speed limit or something and all that data would be recorded into the license until you renewed.

What a rush

Days prior to the Olympics people were mentioning on twitter that they never heard so many different languages as they were walking around. When I heard that I was just shocked, as Vancouver is a multicultural city just like the rest of North America. Maybe they just been living under a rock all these years.. Who knows? I remember being six years old at Expo 1986 and being amazed at all the different cultures and whatnot and then again 10 years later when Vancouver hosted the World dragon boat championships, so I got to see all these different cultures once again getting together and take part in something they love. This is why I love this city as we are all so different.

I maybe a very proud Canadian with a maple leaf tattoo but I support every athlete out there whether your have a mega sponsor(s) like Shaun White of the USA or those athletes who taking time off work and paying out of your own pocket to attend the games.. Like most of the parlympics athletes had to do.

With that being said, I do believe that the Olympics and the Paralympics has changed us Vancouverites (and maybe even the rest of Canada) in a big way, As I’ve never seen Vancouver so bubbly and so patriot like our neighbours to the south. Where ever you went you heard a huge crowd people singing our anthem or a small group of people signing theirs. There was always someone in that crowd of red and white wearing their nations flags as a cape. This is a once in a lifetime event and it was priceless and just awesome. :hyper2: Only thing I am not looking forward to is the paying off the debt.

The highlight of the Olympics games for me would have been when we broke the 34 year curse of not winning a gold on home soil, and for every athlete being able to make it to the Olympics and doing their personal best. And talking to US Bobsled Elena and Canadian Luger Chris. WAIT! There is more to read… read on »
